Abstract :
Development of massive opticalization scenarios as well as cost reduction technologies is the key to successful subscriber loop modernization. The economies of different opticalization scenarios are discussed. The background of existing subscriber networks is addressed, together with the design of a narrowband system that accommodates existing subscribers. Four opticalization scenarios are proposed. These scenarios are evaluated for different area categories that include physical conditions and customer attributes
