Abstract :
This paper considers energy-based target localization in multi-hop wireless sensor networks. The multi-hop transmission scheme was modeled using a binary symmetric channel (BSC). The equivalent BSC model was integrated into a maximum likelihood estimation framework for energy-based target localization. We present a direct method for finding the coefficients in the equivalent BSC model. Simulations showed our approach can achieve performance close to the Cramer-Rao lower bound.
