Abstract :
A communication architecture for bounded area networks (BANs) is proposed. BANs are communication networks that exist in robots, vehicles, homes, etc. They are characterized by a limited number of stations because of the application, restricted geographic distances, and high reliability requirements. They also differ from local area networks in the higher layers. The architecture of this solution is a bus of twisted pair, coaxial or optical fiber cable. The protocol is based on the sequence of events on the bus, where the station forms a logical ring. The control layer provides reliable operational modes
