Abstract :
An end to end electrical model has been developed for a flash-radiography diagnostic used at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The diagnostic consists of a compact, 108 J, A1-series Marx pulsed power generator that drives a bremsstrahlung diode radiation source. The modeling was done using a transmission-line code, BERTHA, developed at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). Model predictions agree well with experimental data. The calculations suggest that, as presently configured, the system efficiency can be increased.
