Abstract
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is now an industry standard for management of devices, systems and software in a distributed computing environment. A variety of Management information Bases (MIB) have been developed for managing various kinds of elements including databases. This paper attempts to define a framework for a Unified Database MIB, for uniform management of a variety of databases including relational, object oriented and proprietary databases in a client-server environment
