Abstract :
For one and a half decades world-wide to it one researches how optical waveguides can be implemented inside of conventional printed wiring boards. These make themselves particularly necessary for high bandwidths. Selected points of the packaging of electrical-optical boards are located in the centre of this contribution. Among other things, the paper contains the approach to integrate the optical layer and to place the light-emitting and detecting devices
