Abstract
Based on the multi-loop theory, through the establishment of a mathematical model of transient analysis of the induction machine, this paper analyzes the influence of rotor winding faults on the starting performance of the induction machine. The research demonstrates that rotor winding faults result in the decrease of the starting torque, great increase of harmonic torque, slowdown of the rise of the starting rotational speed, increase of starting time, difficulty in starting, deformation of the stator and rotor starting current, and decrease of the rate of decay, and it also indicates that one of the frequency components of the stator current produces the peak value twice during the start-up. Some of the conclusions of the transient analysis may be applied to rotor winding fault diagnosis.
