Abstract :
This paper presents the performance of cellular SDMA/TDMA systems with variable bit rate traffic. We employ a time slot assignment algorithm, which assigns a time slot to a new user considering not only the signal quality of the new user, but also that of active users. To support different multimedia services, a modulation scheme is adaptively selected according to the QoS (quality of service) requirement. Blocking probability, forced termination probability, and average delay of different services are evaluated in a cellular environment
