Abstract
This paper discusses a Ka-band mobile satellite system proposed as part of a study into future mobile satcoms undertaken for the British National Space Council. The aim is to identify key areas of technology which require development. The premise was that spectral congestion at L-band and other frequencies used for mobile communications will force a shift to higher frequencies
