Abstract :
This paper presents the results of a comprehensive simulation. Each of the VSATs is connected to the MAN by a conventional network router. A wide area diversity controller, also connected to the network, assesses the link conditions and assigns users to particular links depending on their Quality of Service requirements. The work has shown that spatial diversity techniques can provide Ka band users with significant improvements in service, particularly when reliability and availability are of importance
