  • Abstract
    A new algorithm for segmenting connected character is presented. The algorithm unify the segmentation process into two ways, free-falling segmentation in external contours and tunnel segmentation in connected paths, by simulating movement of water droplets. Under the guidance of the center force of gravity, the segmentation path can be got taking no account of type of touching in advance. Experiments show that the algorithm can rapidly and accurately separate the various type of touching characters.
