Abstract
A new broadband planar offset antenna is described based on the T-shaped microstrip feeding structure in this paper. This antenna is optimized by the finite difference time domain (FDTD) and genetic algorithms (GA). The results show the impedance bandwidth of this antenna is from 1.864 to 6.643 GHz for S11 ≤ -10 dB (VSWR ≤ 2), much higher than that of usual slot patch antenna, the far-filed pattern almost remain the same as that of the T-shaped microstrip feeding antenna.
