Abstract :
The paper proposes a new idea to realize a wide-area synchronized parallel processing platform. The platform takes the advantages of GPS, data communication facilities and other advanced techniques. The system structure, operating mode and data-exchange mode of the proposed platform are discussed in detail. The wide-area synchronized parallel processing platform has been successfully used in a monitoring, protection and control system for a provincial power system in China.
