Abstract :
In this paper a new type of device with voltage gain based on a linear transmission line transformer (TLT) is proposed. This new type of device consists of a very low frequency TLT circuit made of lumped element lines. For the first time the capabilities of very low frequencies even at power frequencies (50/60 Hz) were demonstrated. Also from this work it appears that there is a good prospect of operating these new transformers in the range of several kHz in low power applications. This may have important applications for the design of switched-mode power supplies operating at audio frequencies.
