Abstract
This paper presents a study for the effect of the presence of distribution generation DG on the distribution network. The system losses are calculated for different system configurations (with and without DG´s). In addition, the study concerned with transient performance. So, the study system integrated by DG units is exposed to the most common disturbances i.e. load switching and the severest one: three-phase to ground faults. Results of this work should be valuable in planning studies.
