Abstract
The present work deals with a comparative study of different overvoltage mitigation techniques and their effect upon the conducted EMI emissions in an induction motor drive system. A detailed PSpice model of the system has been developed considering lumped parameter model with 64 sections for the cable and high frequency models for the IGBT PWM inverter and induction motor. Simulation results are compared with experimental results. Four overvoltage mitigation techniques such as RLC inverter output filter, modified RLC inverter output filter, RC filter at motor terminals and dv/dt control are considered.
