Abstract :
Cloud Computing has been regarded as a disruptive innovation in the recent years. Many organizations usually follow old school-conservative approach when it comes to the adoption of new innovative ideas due to the concerns it raises. While each application is unique, it is important to use your own “eyeglass” while evaluating Cloud strategy. Determining migration of applications to appropriate Cloud Deployment Model can be challenging. To facilitate decision makers in making decision under uncertainty, we use Robustness and Opportuneness (RO) based approach. This approach seeks to optimize robustness to failure or opportuneness for windfall. We present this approach to facilitate the decision maker to fill the gaps between what is well-known, and what needs to be known in order to make a comprehensive and efficient decision while choosing Cloud Deployment Model based on the application specifications and their characteristics. This approach measures Robustness and Opportuneness to help in decision formation to obtain the most suitable Cloud type.
