Abstract :
Since conventional MLSE equalizers provide hard outputs, their use precludes soft decision channel decoding. This paper proposes a new soft output equalization technique based on the modified-MAP algorithm for GMSK mobile radio. A comparison of the performance of the proposed algorithm with those of other suboptimum algorithms (SOVA, SSA) is made. Simulation results over multipath fading channels are presented
