  • Abstract
    The application of possibility theory to block replacement is proposed in this paper. The lifetime of component is modeled as a fuzzy variable. The optimality function studied is the long-run expected cost per unit of time. In order to solve the proposed models, a hybrid intelligent algorithm is employed. Finally, a numerical example is provided for the sake of illustration
