Abstract :
An object-oriented programming environment for the specification, design, coding, and testing of software for intelligent automation systems is described. The programming environment supports the development of programs, maintains the consistency of objects, and supports distributed systems. The information to be managed includes traced items, programs, data, and machines. A holistic approach that incorporates objects for control, management, and communication is taken. The system is implemented using the C++ language in an IBM/AT environment with communication interfaces with other controllers
