Abstract
Although there were lots of conventional approaches to the sensing task of wireless cognitive radio (CR). Pursuit for the simplest and most efficient way of spectrum sensing never stops. Compressed sensing (CS) is based on the revelation that a small collection of linear projections of a sparse signal contains enough information of reconstruction. Some scholars have used CS to detect the sparse spectrum in CR. However, their studies were limited to the detection by reconstructing initial signal. In this paper, we combined the CS-based non-reconstruction technology with the conventional energy detection (ED) method. The simulation results demonstrated that our method could save much detection time and reduce the amount of data to send in sensors. Simultaneously, our method obtains the performance approximating to the conventional ED method.
