Abstract
A highly parallel algorithm for least-squares FIR (finite-impulse response) filtering is presented. The algorithm is of the covariance type and can be performed on a linear array of O(p ) processors with p being the order of the filter. The required time is 4p (τ1+τ2+τ3) with τ1, τ2, τ3 being the time units for division, multiplication and addition respectively. Initialization is performed in N (τ2+τ3 ) units with N being the length of the data block
