Abstract :
An isolated dog heart preparation placed in a cylindrical tank filled with a physiological solution was designed, forming a simplified heart-torso model. Epicardial and cylinder potentials were recorded for several sequences of excitation and repolarization. The boundary element method was used to construct a transfer matrix relating cylinder to epicardial potentials. Inverse epicardial potential solutions were calculated from cylinder distributions using Tikhonov regularization procedures. Experimental results are presented and discussed
