Abstract :
The ever growing interest in the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology has given rise to countless new applications. This senario has initiated the development of low cost RFID tags. This paper presents the design of a new passive UHF RFID tag antenna. This work introduces a new design strategy for RFID labels focusing on the input characterization of chip impedance, the antenna impedance matching and measurement aspects. This is illustrated with the design of a dipole antenna matched to the chip input impedance using a tuning series inductive meandered line.
