Abstract
A low-complexity/low-cost Whispering Gallery Mode (WGM) resonator coupled to a dielectric waveguide, working in sub-millimeter wave range of frequency, is proposed. The structure is implemented on a Silicon-On-Glass (SOG) technology for the first time. Using different type of experiments, the validity of design and functionality of system are verified. Excitation of four pure WGE modes in the range of 145-205 GHz for two types of resonators, the ring and the disc resonator, are experimentally demonstrated for the first time.
