Abstract :
The authors have constructed a prototype of partial discharge (PD) pulse measurement and degradation diagnosis system (PDMES-I). PDMES-I consists of PD measurement system, PD pulse data analyzing system and degradation system. The PD patterns (φ-q-n distribution) of low density polyethylene (LDPE) and polyimide (PI) have been measured for CIGRE METHOD-II electrode system. On the basis of the experimental results, a model for a PD occurrence pattern of a half cycle is proposed. We have made an artificial PD pattern by computer simulation on the basis of the model. Finally, we have applied the artificial PD patterns to the actual patterns to determine the degree of in the Insulator-Gap-Insulator (glass) electrode system
