Abstract :
Under the excitation of the external electromagnetic wave, the current and voltage can be generated along the cable. A simple treatment with the ground wire is proposed. Based on the transmission line method, the current on cable shield was computed with different loads. The results of NEC testify the validity of the method. Finally some examples of transient current when EMP is illuminated upon the cable are analyzed, and some useful results are obtained in order to research die field-to-line coupling problem.
