Abstract :
This paper presents a design and optimization method to harness wind energy using PMSG, diode rectifier, boost DC/DC converter and grid-connected VSI DC/AC inverter with LCL filter. A systematic procedure has been adopted to design the system to extract maximum power for a given wind speed. The design methodology has been verified by Simulink based platform. The system operates up to its design target, which extracts almost the maximum power for a given wind speed.
