  • Abstract
Summary form only given: In order to meet national goals of energy security and emissions reductions, the grid needs to be modernized that will allow for the integration of clean generation, electric vehicles, and other distributed technologies. In order to ensure of reliable operations, research is being performed across the nation on systems integration of smart grid technologies. There are many challenges of integrated a large number of these systems. These challenges will be discussed along with future research and development pathways that will enable deployment of smart grid systems.
