Abstract :
In recent years, the study of radiation pattern reconfigurable antennas has made great progress. Radiation pattern reconfigurable antennas have more advantages and better prospects compared with conventional antennas. They can be used to avoid noisy environments, maneuver away from electronic jamming, improve system gain and security, save energy by directing signals only towards the intended direction, and increase the number of subscribers by having a broad pattern in the wireless communication system. The latest researches of the radiation pattern reconfigurable antennas are analyzed and summarized in this paper to present the characteristics and classification. The trend of radiation pattern reconfigurable antennas´ development is given at the end of the paper.
