Abstract :
An experimental system, based on the principles of impedance plethysmography, is tested for continuous real-time computerized determination of the position of a multielectrode intracavitary probe. From the results of the theoretical analysis and mathematical model simulations, tolerances of probe position determination are predicted to be within 1 mm or 5% of the measured distance, whichever is larger. Simulated tank model measurements produced results which indicate that these theoretical predictions are correct
