Abstract :
A new prototype of a time-sharing operation-based current-source (CS) zero current soft-switching (ZCS) high-frequency resonant (HF-R) inverter suitable for induction heating (IH) and inductive power transfer (IPT) systems is presented in this paper. In order to effectively generate a high-frequency resonant current under a minimized switching loss of power devices, a HF load current which has twice or multiple times as much as the switching frequency can be produced by two-or multi-phase CS inverter under the ZCS condition. The performance of the proposed HF-R inverter is evaluated from experimental results, after which the feasibility is discussed from a practical point of view.
