Abstract :
Advances in algorithms combined with ever increasing cost effective computational power is enabling embedded processing solutions to change the world as we know it today. The electrification of the automobile transforming mechanical systems to electronic control as well as the development of alternatives to internal combustion engines, the transformation of the health care system from a centralized doctor visit based approach to personal, portable, continuous electronic monitoring and telemedicine approach, the conversion to a smart grid, and the social networking revolution through the ability to deliver increasing amounts of data to your phone are but a few examples of intelligent systems that will be based on this increased embedded processing power. Combine that with the explosive growth of markets in the emerging economies and the opportunity for innovation is tremendous. This talk discusses factors driving innovation in the automotive, consumer, industrial, networking, and wellness markets. Innovations at Freescale, as an embedded processing global leader, follow global trends and in many cases help define the progress of technology that defines a system solution with truly differentiated value in these markets.
