Abstract
A full-bridge DC-to-DC converter is presented that features zero-voltage switching, regulated by pulse width modulation (PWM) at constant frequency, which does not use the concept of resonance to transfer power to the load. The principle of operation, theoretical analysis, simulation, and design procedure are given along with laboratory experimental results. The advantages of the converter, as compared with the clamped mode series resonant converter regulated by PWM, can be summarized as follows: commutation of all switches under zero voltage, low VAr rating of the reactive components, low conduction losses, and low device voltage and current stresses
