Abstract
A new method based on GO (geometrical optics) is applied to predict the wide band characteristics of millimeter wave (MMW) propagation in rectangular tunnels. Instead of ray tracing, this method could analytically determine the paths between transmitter and receiver. From the results of simulation and theory, the nearer the separation between transmitter and receiver is, the larger the rms (root mean square) delay spread and the mean excess delay are; the wider the dimension of cross section is, the larger the rms delay spread and the mean excess delay are. This method has the same exactness as dedicated software, as well as lower complexity of computing.
