Abstract :
We propose a high-performance space-time turbo trellis code modulation (ST-TTCM), the key idea is the expansion of orthogonal space-time signal set and the classical set partitioning. There have been high rate space-time trellis codes constructed by concatenating the space-time block code (STBC) and multiple trellis code modulation (MTCM) with the similar idea. In this paper, however, the TTCM as a generalized TCM is used in the STBC-MTCM scheme for high data rate, and the recursive design of MTCM, the symbol interleaver and the iterative decoding algorithm have been newly designed. Furthermore, we present several design examples of our proposed code and from the approximate simulation result, we can see the new codes have better BER than the original STBC-MTCM structure, the data rate is higher than the original ST-TTCM with similar BER.
