            Abstract :
Commercially pure aluminum and carbon steel with 0.35%C were modified during cast process using nanodimensional powders and bulk master alloys. As a result, aluminum got extremely refined structure both for nanopowders and bulk master alloys. On the contrary, steel didn´t get any beneficial effect from modifying in any cases. It appears from this fact, that modifying effect depends on time-temperature characteristics of the casting process.
