Abstract
Using a mixed system of digital signal processor (DSP) and reprogrammable field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) with efficient hardware design techniques, we propose the implementation of automatic detection and tracking radar in a system on a reconfigurable chip (SoRC) for providing the trajectory and predicting the future position of multiple moving targets. Combining the functionality of a pulsed Doppler radar for target detection and tracking radar for future position prediction and tracking in an SoRC our system implementation revolves around automatic detection of targets for the removal of clutter and interference, track initiation, track association, track smoothing using Kalman gain components and track termination.
