            Abstract :
Two suboptimum zero-forcing decision feedback equalization (DFE) structures for digital communication channels subject to intersymbol interference and additive white Gaussian noise are proposed based on a discrete adaptive fourth-order cumulant technique. The proposed DFE schemes are blind, stable, and capable of identifying separately both the minimum- and maximum-phase components of nonminimum-phase communication channels. It is demonstrated by Monte Carlo simulations that the proposed equalizers perform very effectively at the expense of more computations. Performance comparisons are made with classical least-mean-square-type DFEs in terms of probability of error and computational complexity
