            Abstract : 
The paper represents power electronics device for PQ improvement and introduces Open UPQC as possible solution to improve whole system PQ level with more features for specific end users. It focuses on shunt unit analysis and performance. Realization of prototype and design consideration are analyzed in detail and different operation modes of the system are described.
