Abstract :
In this communication, generation of electroacoustic wave and its effects on the radiation characteristics of planar array of circular patch microstrip antenna has been illustrated. The array geometry is supposed to be immersed in an isotropic warm plasma medium. The array is designed on RT duroid substrate at 9.5 GHz. The far zone EM and plasma mode field expressions have been developed using vector wave function technique, pattern multiplication approach and linearized hydrodynamic theory of plasma. The field patterns, radiation conductance and directive gain of the designed array have been estimated and plotted for free space and plasma medium. The results are quite promising and the proposed array geometry may be useful for on-board applications.
