Abstract
The rapid development of communication technologies and network technology which has brought opportunities and challenges for communication networks. The rapid increase of network traffic which leads the traditional broadband access technologies can not provide so many Bandwidths to users; meanwhile, the traditional broadband access technologies can not meet with the emerging business needs of network bandwidth. At the same time, PON technology is quickly developed and become matures, which largely used in the Wide Area Network and Metropolitan Area Network can meet with the users require and get a lot of experience .all of above , FTTH has become the development direction for the access network. In this paper are presented the availability of secured and non secured GPON Architectures. The perimeter considered ranges from the OLT shelf to the ONU. Unavailability and failure frequency of tree and bus architectures were reported for three distinct deployment scenarios. The same calculations were performed for five Secured architectures based on tree and bus architectures. From the result can see that: The protection of the double-PON ports plays an very important role for the availability of the network structure. FTTH network construction which based on the GPON technology will get a reliable technical support by assessing the availability of network .
