Abstract
Global Positioning System (GPS) has been used widely these days, and it can support a growing number of commercial products, i.e. scientific uses, tracking, and surveillance. There are lots of interesting topics for GPS, and one of the important technologies is how to reasonable design the data frame structure. A good designed structure can improve the efficiency of the frame, and achieve high reliability. While fountain code is a promising and universal technology, with its flexible property of receiving data. This paper proposes a new GPS frame structure based on fountain code as a kind of channel code, which takes full advantages of the flexibility of fountain code. The proposed new scheme expands a new research field for GPS frame structure. And many future works will be done based on this paper.
