Abstract
A new network structure based on PON (Passive Optical Network) is proposed, and a service model of the new network structure is established by the complex network analytical method in this paper. It reveals by simulation that the degree distribution of the service model is flatter, and both the average shortest path length and the clustering coefficient are smaller than scale-free network. The new network structure can improve balance utilization of resources in the optical network, relieve service burden in the optical backbone and metropolitan area networks and furthermore reduce congestion in the optical network. Therefore, it is meaningful for future optical network construction.
