The recent subprime financial crisis forces both national countries and international financial organizations to rethink the issue of how to maintain international financial stability. This paper examines the international efforts which have been made to maintain the financial stability and those which have yet not been made. In our view, in a growing globalized and liberalized economy and financial market, a more practical way to maintain international financial stability is to classify the diverse nations and their financial systems to several relatively broader categories and make different standards and regulation guidelines than an uniform international standards and codes.
