Abstract :
This paper introduces a GA visualisation tool, GAVIEW. The purpose of developing the tool is to offer various ways of understanding GA behaviour, using various visualisation methods, and to encourage GA users to handle GA simulations and analyses, using a graphical user interface on the X Window System. As an example of using the tool, a series of visualised GA statistics are illustrated and examined to compare the performances of two GAs. The results show an advantage of using various statistics and visualisation methods for understanding GA behaviour
