Abstract :
We propose a new antenna array concept called Independently Center-fed Dipole Array (ICDA) for Ultra- Wideband (UWB) and Ultra-Short Pulse (USP) communication systems. Such antenna array is capable of minimizing non-linear phase characteristics, while maintaining flat amplitude. The characteristics of a 13- element ICDA array were numerically analyzed. By using Finite-Difference Time Domain (FDTD), we show that the workable frequency range of ICDA is the sum of all its elements´ bandwidth. The transmission coefficient is linear, for both amplitude and phase, from 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz.
