Abstract :
The Farrow structure has been used as an efficient method to implement polynomial interpolation filter which can be used in timing recovery phase locked loop (PLL) of broadband digital modem. This paper presents a method to optimize Farrow coefficients of interpolation filter that minimize the MSE at the output of receiver. Contrasting with other conventional interpolation filters, such as sine and polynomial interpolator, our analytical study and simulation results show the performance, with proposed optimized Farrow coefficients, is improved in minimum MSE and jitter and the implementation complexity is reduced.
