Abstract
The author describes his views on the importance of human factors as it applies to nuclear power plant performance. He also discusses some recent NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) activities that are designed to improve nuclear regulation in 1988 and beyond. It is concluded that an emphasis on human factors can make a positive contribution toward reducing human errors, which still remain a significant factor in causing events at nuclear plants.<>
