The department of geochemistry of Chengdu University of Technology was restructured on the basis of geochemistry of the traditional advantages of professional department and radioactive geologist department. It was the pillar department of geoscience which relied on Ph.D., MA, degree authorization and postdoctoral workstation. The opportunity of assessment was seized to combine the professional features, strengthen educational management and guide the teachers of the whole department were all in for the teaching profession under the leadership of education management of university and colleges. In the following aspects of enhancing the basic curriculum courses, expanding elective courses, encouraging young teachers to participate in further studies and apply for research projects, improving the quality and professional skills of young teachers, increasing the input of laboratory construction, cooperating with production units to set up outside practice base, and encouraging students to participate in research projects of teachers, students had exercised in practice, the ability to adapt to the needs of the community had also improved. In recent years the rate of taking graduate examination and actual employment were 100%.
